1.) Do no type in all CAPS.

2.) Do not install a CAI, it's useless.

WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME?
Um, i know the companies that sell these CAI say you can just bolt them and run them but i wouldnt do it. When i installed my cai i drove it to get tuned the next day. I just got to HI as well and have not added anyting performance wise to the car, so i couldnt help you whith the policy of the service centers around here or where to get tuned at for that matter.
Sorry to be a downer, if someone knows better then me about the "bolt and go" and said its good to go i would help you install the CAI if you wanted to go thru with it. GL either way.

not to thread jack but are there any tuners around? How do you guys do it? I'm not going anywhere power-wise anytime soon, but it would be good to know.
Just wondering. Why is everyone against putting a CAI on again? (besides what shagg said.)

Nope. I use a K&N recharge. but there are many other different drop in filters you can use.

If you want some good power, get a full turbo back and a tune or apv2. Great power for the price. haha

the stock intake is good for up to around 350-400 whp IIRC (with additional mods of course)

The plastic cools down faster too

For the cost to power ratio it's pointless. The stock Subaru intake design w/ a good drop in is sufficient, plus you don't have to worry about the rain.

Plus unless you have a bigger turbo that really requires a shtload of air, it's not necessary. By the time you need a lot of air to be sucked in, you won't be asking any of these questions.
