a/c acting up...need help
when I first start my car, my a/c blows cold and strong. After a little while, it just blows but it's not cold. Then when I turn the car off for a few minutes and turn it back on, it blows cold again but eventually starts to just blow warm air. At first I thought I needed a recharge, but if i just keep driving, the a/c would come back and would just stay cold without any problems for the rest of the trip. I don't what the heck is going on but can somebody explain what's wrong? is it my compressor that's messed up? thanks in advance!!!
btw, wassup to all the old-skooler. where you guys at????...i've been MIA for too long..hahah. So how's everybody doing?

yea that's what I thought too...but the compressor kicks on like normal. The only weird thing is that even when the compressor is going, it begins to blow warm air. So i don't know. thanks btw

no, haven't had it pressure tested. should i have to? because after a while it just works perfectly fine...it's just when I start the car that all this happens. wait maybe like 15 minutes into driving and it blows ice cold constantly

well one way to tell is if the refrigerent is low, is to watch the a/c compressor on idle. if it periodically kicks on and off in short periods of time, you may be low on refrigerent. if you see it doing this, the compressor is working harder to keep the pressure to the optimum level. this could cause compressor failure. you could have a leak causing you to loose refrigerent, or you are just plain low. if its not doing this, it probably another issue.

the compressor does not kick on and off constantly. it kicks on, a/c get cold, stays on for a bit longer, a/c gets warm, then kicks off...i don't know what the heck is going on...it just doesn't make any sense

Wassup!!!
Sorry to hear about your ac issues. Definitely check the refrigerant to make sure it's got enough in there since you've had the car for a while without trouble previously. Check your ac belt to make sure it's not loose
More likely though you'll need to change your expansion valve and while your there the evaporator core inside the dash.
