BOV questions

i was just on clubwrx.net and i read somethin about BOV's. My application is a VF39 with upgraded fuel management, FMIC, and the other stuffs, everybody on that website pretty much agrees that a BOV is harming your car and translated says it is the most worthless part in the entire world...is this necessarily true...im running about 18psi on my car...should i just take the BOV off since i'm not pushing above 22psi (thats what they said you need to run b4 putting one on)...any insight would be good, because as far as i knew you needed one to vent the excess air, but everyone on the site says use a recirculating valve...based on my application do i need one? I'm completely confused now Brad and **** are the only ones who have seen my appl in real life, but any help is MUCHO appreciated...

you don't need a bov for your application. I would run the stock recirculation valve. At the moment if you want to run rich in between shifting and make noise while driving then leave the bov on. it you are running a larger turbo and pushing more than 20 psi then i'd say it would be worth having depending on the one that you're using though.

can you run the stock recirculation valve on a FMIC application...does anyone have the recirculating valve 4 sale...or what happens when you run no BOV or rec. valve. I don't wanna do anything w/out consulting the pros

you can run stockie with fmic but req some modification. basically you need a flange welded on that will allow it to fit and then need the recirc hose. i do have a perrin recirc that i am planning on selling in the classified section. it's 100% recirc so it should be ok for your application. lmk if your interested and we can set something up. my new one should be here tomorrow or sat. i believe the stock one is good up to 18psi but will start to leak shortly thereafter. the perrin that i have should be good to well over any psi your likely to ever see

yup 91sleeper is right, your stock one is good for 18psi, so you should use a bov with an upgraded or adjustable spring and recirculation. his perrin should do the trick

I had my set up for a few years now with the stock bypass, running just fine without an aftermarket bov....
