Bought an S80.
Bought a Volvo S80 today.
Used, but certified.
It's a 2000.
Sounds old, but it only had 16,500 miles on it. It was a lease car from some old folks with a vacation home out here. Doesn't even look like the rear seats have been sat in.
It's certified so it comes with a 6yr/100,000 mile warrantee from volvo. It'll be 6 years that goes first.
Pretty nice car.
Safe, very safe and I like that.

thanks guys,
I couldn't believe a 2000 only had 16,500 miles on it.
I was blown away at how good this car was. They just got it in yesterday (turned in on lease) and hadn't even detailed it yet. I'll pick it up on Wednesday because their mechanic snagged the bumper on the wall as he was bringing it around. what crappy timing. Oh well. Their putting new tires on it, fixing the bumper cover, detailing the car and changing the fluids.

the S80 is one of their top of the line consumer sporty luxury models...think top of the line in the C-class of Mercedes.
Dom, did you get the one with the 2.9 i6 twin turbo?

no.
Wish I had.
It' s the normal 2.9. It's only got 194HP.
But I don't really care. As the wife said "That's why you have your car!"
I have this spare T3 turbo sitting around...
I'll post some pics when I pick it up. They're doing a few things to it first.

??? So this is your "larger suv"
What happened to room for the kid(s) and the 200lb dog? Sounds like you got a good deal, very low miles. I guess Toby gets to stay at home from now on huh...

couldn't pass up the deal.
The Escape's value is dropping like a rock. one year old and it already dropped 12k in value.
they actually gave us almost 3k more than it's worth.
The Volvo has already gone through it's major price drop and won't depreciate much more.
Let's put it another way, I'm less upside-down in this car than I was in the Escape... a lot less.
As far as Toby is concerned, the trunk is HUGE. I could fit three Tobys in there. Seriously, though, the seats fold down and they have thick carpet on the back. He can sit on the seat back and walk into the trunk if he needs more room.
All that and we'd still have room for two car seats.

oh yeah,
we plan on getting rid of it in a couple years anyway. It'll have a higher resale value than the escape and we'll be better off.
Thanks for the concern, though.
