BJE install...check here later to see how much blood is spilled.

http://www.turninconcepts.com/produc...roducts_id=399

^^^Doing that mod this weekend.

It doesn't LOOK like a crazy part to change but apparently it helps get rid of all the negative camber loss you get in hard turns.

So supposedly instead of the front wheels pushing inwards to positive camber this helps to keep you closer to your static camber as possible.

Cliff's Notes: it helps get rid of understeer and when at autocross you can rotate the car easier.

The problem is, this is a 3 hour install for the professionals at my local shop so I am going to first attempt it and then tow it over to their shop if I get stuck. Wish me luck? I should only lose a unit or two of blood if I'm lucky

Oh and I am gonna replace the conical washer for my front passenger tophat as well...that should be a PITA but I think I came up with a way of doing without having to take the strut fully out and having to use a spring compressor.

I already did mine with the six guns version. i have the replacement versions on after the recall of the faulty part that they released earlier.

not the best picture but the only one I can find at the moment

They got some pretty interesting and functional products at Turnin. I wonder if you need to re-align your car after these mods.

the reason it's recommended is since it changes the geometry of your front suspension thus throwing off your suspension alignment

Hell Tony at TiC pretty much said I have to align after this.

Well I need a performance alignment either way. Don't have anywhere near enough negative camber on the fronts.

The good thing is that over here there's this place called "Performance Alignment" (oddly enough) that does such alignments for performance. http://www.performance-alignment.com/ apparently this guy is the bomb.

Jon, how long and how difficult was the install? Tony said the smaller piece can be a PITA to take out for some people.

Oh and I ordered the Whiteline ones because:
1. I am chang.
2. I only have a moderate drop.

honestly the hardest parts would be the ball joints themselves.

The tie rod ends should be reverse thread if i'm not mistaken. should be pretty easy to remove.

total time should be max about 3~4 hours

there is no difference in feel or ride. it just properly aligns your suspension angle on a lowered car.

For me, I am thinking it will help me especially in "Chicago Boxes" because that's where I normally get the fronts to scrub out and have to left foot brake to get more traction to the fronts.

I estimate I lose like 2 seconds doing all of that because I come out really slow and get boost lag as well.

Technically, these things are supposed to give you proper geometry in a lowered car because in a typical lowered car under hard cornering you will get a much faster transition from negative to positive camber. Positive camber is bad for handling. People have been saying that this mod helps to get the car where it should've been with all of their other mods (drop, coilovers, etc.).

blake - i was thinking of ordering those next, but it depends on how much i adjust the height (i need to raise my car now, its too low). it may actually end up close to stock height. lmk how the install goes and the performance difference.

btw, we haven't had any chicago boxes here lately. i miss those

when you align your car, remember to try to toe out the front a little. it'll help with your turn in and get rid of some of the understeer. for auto-x, i'm running -3.8 in the front and -2.4 in the rear and my car rotates very well.

Wow I thought Chicago was like a standard thing in Auto-X.

Yeah apparently the big diff between the 6-gun and the Whiteline is how much adjustment you get...the 6-gun is basically for cars that are dropped lower than the moderate drops that springs like JDM STi Pinks or Eibach pro-kit will do.

I'll let you know how it goes...going to start it on Sunday on just one side...if I get stuck I will put it all back on and tow it over to Turn In Concepts for them to do it.
