bigger injectors, no tune for 5 mile travel?

i read on forums with bigger injectors and no temp map for it you could just limp the car to the tuner with a lil bit of richness.
does that also apply to 850cc injectors in an 06 sti?

i have a current tune already but want to get tuned again with other mods, injectors being one of them. i literally live 5-6 mi. from rads.

if not, installing the injectors at rads, safer?

thanks in advance,
chasen

If you are going to a pdx tune, jarrad can send you a tempuary map to get you to rads,,..
But i think you should be ok running rich imo to get you there.

you really think so? they are pretty big compared to stock.. and well i spoke to jarrad, im not using an AP ill be doing open source but was thinking about having a loaner AP from a friend for the temp map but then that just requires more effort from jarrad to make me a temp map for an AP that i wont be using. soooo im considering all other opinions/option.

Running rich for 5mi won't do anything, but I'd stay out of boost just to be safe...

I suppose you've never heard of cylinder wash.

And if he stays in closed loop the ECU will pull a bunch of fuel because the front O2 is going to see that the car is running rich, its going to try and hit 14.7:1. The key would be to drive the car very slowly and avoid any tip-in enrichment.

Whoever is gonna tune your car should be able to send you a start up map to allow you to get to the dyno.

Wait whut? You don't need an AP. You need a Tactrix cable. You flash whatever map he sends you with the cable and a laptop. Don't even try to mess with an AP.

All you need is a laptop and a tactrix cable. Chris should be able to hook you up with a baseline tune based on your mods without any problem at all. That will set you up with injector and maf scaling as well as a low boost map. You just need to find a friend with a tactrix and a laptop.

So much fuel dumps into the cylinder and doesn't burn that it effectively washes the oil from your cylinder walls. It will mix with your oil, and seeing as how gasoline isn't as spectacular of a lubricant, other damage can happen as well.
