Big Thanks to Ryan (Vakamon), JuniorSTI (Jimi), and Caterpil (Daniel)

Man, you guys are alright!...Thank you very much for the help, insight, and your ability to teach and provide guidance in helping me tonight...the Coil-over/Strut swap would have been a disaster for me if you hadn't all helped...

This is what the Hawaii chapter of the I-Club is all about...

Thanks again you guys,

Brent

ya...going back to the STI Struts/springs

Purchased some Prodrive springs from Mauro Motosports for $309.99 shipped to Honolulu. Put them on my cousins spare sti struts and took the TEIN's off to sell...going to take out the EDFC on Saturday...

The TEIN's were a little too stiff of a ride for my wife...I liked them though...at least they are pretty much sold already...

I'm happy with the Prodrives...pretty stiff for springs...ride height is good...no complaints so far...

I wouldn't mind getting some coilovers like the Cusco 2R's...but again, it's probably going to be too firm a ride...

I have some eibach springs that I need to swap onto my KYB AGXs, how much did it cost for Vakamon to do the swap and can you either reply back or PM me the phone number of who helped you out? Thanks

^^^ the prodrive is a even 1" drop IIRC... less than eibach but it's stiffer. It should be okay on the STi caz the struts are .75" lower than the WRX. It would be pretty good. Oh... Brent, you wouldn't want the Cusco caz with them 18" you got plus the 2R... oh man, that's one hell of a ride.

from what munkywurks garage told me, the hks and cusco coilovers can be ajusted to a very comfortable ride, an almost stock feeling... the flexes are just rough...

Drop seems lower than advertised...

Roy, these are the 04 STI specific springs...They still seem to be settling...at times they look like an even gap...maybe about 1.5 fingers in the back, 1.5-2 fingers in the front...looks pretty balanced...front seems to be higher at times, even with the back at others...strange...no noise at all...

I don't know if this is specific to the 04 STI but the drop does not seem even front and back...more like 1.5" front drop, .5" rear drop...

Initial reaction was that they were stiff, not at all bouncy on the hwy, and the extra 1 finger clearance from what I had my TEIN Flex's set on doesn't make me scrape my side splitters so much when going up and down ramps...maybe time to get new side splitters...

You guys (Roy and Luktang) know about the pricing I got for the side splitters painted right...those would look sweet on your cars....

I'll try and get some pics as soon as I wash my car (shame)...

Tim...

I guess it depends...if you want someone to install it or install it yourself with the help of others on the board here that really know what they are doing...expect it to take around 4hours or so...some here will say they can do it in 2...we did not have any air compressors to help us...

If you want someone to install it, I would totally recommend Ryan at Vakamon...he is an expert..and a nice guy...he really helped me out this past time by giving me good advice on how to do certain things and what not to do when installing springs...they will charge you around $225 or so...go talk to him, don't call...

Otherwise, do a general call for help on the board here...there are many talented individuals here that would not think twice about helping you...

Brent did the swap, we just helped with a spring compressor. You can give me a call for a quote. 593-1303.
