While RE92 are not known for their grip on the track (Some people call them big wheel tires) I haven't heard of any problems with them. Sounds like you had a defective tire or perhaps ran over over something that caused the tire to go.
I did quite a few AutoX events on RE92s when I had my wagon without any issues. Sorry to hear about your incident.

Hey,sorry to here about your car....I remember you from the cruise...ya stock tires suck! during the end of the cruise going up round top drive, I lost traction in the front, twice! it was a little wet though

sorry to hear about your problems-
i have 40,000 miles on my wagon(stockers)- no problems.. yet.
on a side note- we have had cars received on our lots after shipment
without the tire pressures being brought down- some were at 50 psi!!!
i'm guess its a shipping thing?
if you are gonna see greg at our dent place make sure you go on a wed or thurs. those are his slow days.
