I've used every gas you can use on island, 76, shell, cheveron, & aafes. The only gas that doesn't det is 76 100 oct race gas - period.

The fastest 1320 time I have is on a full tank of aafes gas.

Just b/c you say you're detting on all those gasoline's, ... doesn't mean they are all the same quality. Go ahead and put dirty gas in your car, it ain't mine so I don't have to worry about the effects.

tesoro, chevron, aloha, shell are all refined in the same place locally- only the additives are different- 76 is shipped in from the mainland as is

Chevron has it's own refinery.

Aloha ships it's gas in as well.

Don't know about Tesoro and Shell.

Oh yeah I forgot the military likes to go to the lowest bidder.

Has anybody experienced problems with Chevron gas?

My fuel ports in the TGVS were cacked with black residue when I first changed the injectors and rails. This was from Tesoro gas on the base.

I just go and visit the McCully 76 once a week I cant really tell the difference between 76 and shell but those are the only two brands that have made it into my tank.

Yeah there is but I stopped following the threads...as far as I know no one on island has gone through with it. I still wanna know if people have made dyno runs before and after the reflash to see if there was a change in performance. I probably should do some reading again......I know I'd be pissed if you lose 10-15hp....

But this talk has made me start testing again....and I dropped a few more BBs this morning getting on H3 near Kalaheo again!!! And this was with a couple sprays on the intercooler at intervals prior to WOT. Steady partial throttle cruise at 4k to quick WOT gives det!!!

I know other STI owners have got to hear it.....unless my luck is really as bad as I think it is
