Beep, No Beep, Beep

For about the past week my stock Remote locks won't beep when I lock or unlock the doors... and then when she's in a good mood she'll do it for a little bit and then stop. Sometimes if I set off the panic alarm It'll start beeping again.. Then the other day it did one normal beep followed by a dieing beep.

Any Thoughts.

I have not done any modifications in about 2 months except wheels... but it was doing that before the wheel swap.. The only electrical mod I have is an amp... but I have had that wired for about a year!

Sometimes my alarm does the same thing. My charging system is okay and the battery was bought new from the previous owner. Is this a common thing with subaru factory alarm?

I think it is. I was reading one day on nasioc about this problem. It seems that many have it and they just take it to the dealer, but the problem persists. If it's not affecting anything but sound, you can take it back or if you aren't under warranty, I guess there's nothing you can do about it.

Thank goodness mines hasn't done it yet

are you guys testing the battery? If so how? If you're using a meter does it apply load to the battery? If NOT then it will not show how much current is being drawn from the battery so it may show up as being 100% full.

Current is what is needed to power and run electronic devices.

Not stupid to change the battery sine it's a good idea. on the back of the remote (or at least mine was like this) had setup procedures on how to silence the beep...etc. did you guys try some of those steps?

Jon

If you guys still have warranties...take it in for service.

If not, be aware that the wiring in your cars is perhaps one of the few downfalls of it.
