Why does my car back fire? What makes a WRX back fire?

I have a TurboXS RFL bov....it's ghetto! it's JB welded to the piping. I have a FMIC.

yea its the bov...it makes the subys run rich in between shifts or something with in turn makes the car snap crackle n pop.....to stop it, and recirc the vented air...plus the sound of a spool up is much better than the venting air

your not serious are you!? there is a reason why most people weld these on. if i were you i'd keep som duct tape in the car for when the jbweld breaks and your car dies out...or you could just go and have it welded on.

BOV causes the car to run rich in between shift. Unburn fuel travel down to downpipe and exhaust where the heat will ignite them, hence the backfire.

^^ i thought its when the unburned gasses reach the atmosphere where there is oxygen to complete the fire triangle.. ??
