axle nut (about to cut you in half)

ok i have done this 3 times b4 and i have no idea why it is kicking my azz this time (well the others where on a different subie) i have tried everything i know to break this loose. i bent my breaker bar, then i snapped my breaker bar, put a pipe on the end on a braker bar and snapped that breaker bar too. i used air tools (impact gun from my work tho my tankmight not be big enough), spryed wd40, cussed at it, let my 2 yr old give it a shot, hell i even did some voodoo spells on it! and this crap just luaghs at me saying "hahahaha you can't break me you weak dick"

so any tricks on breaking this dumb nut? i mean i'm about to take my dremel and cut the nut in half ( btw i'm getting my new axle on friday from napa)

TIA

make sure you're turning the right direction first

depending on the reverse torque settings on the impact gun will determine how much of a hard time you'll have taking them off.

all impact guns aren't created equally you know even though it's from a repair shop. Yes have to make sure you have enough line pressure to use the gun at it's fullest.

This is the one that I have and I have yet to meet somethign that it couldn't take off or break ask Justin he knows

yeh i remember you brought it to take off jasons axle nut or was it the nut on the knuckle?? don't remember but it worked then.... and yeh this is not a reverse thread.... tho i was soo pissed last night i went both ways hahaha with the impact gun (no justin not like that )

jon you mind if i borrow that gun again? i know pfluger did my wheel bearing on that side and i have a BIG feeling that they over torqued it (way more then 137lbs/tq)

well you basically heat up the nut you're trying to remove to expand the metal so that you can break it free and remove it. not recommended since might have grease in that area could be fire hazard but you could always try it as a last resort

I too suggest heat you could try one of the small hand held propane torch's they get really hot and I have had good luck with them..If not I am sure that Harbor Freight impact wrench will work ..
