actually, he probably was refering to the actual plenum (I was thinking the standard swap with the 350 intake tubing), ... I read a lot about the plenum not having the airflow to all of the cylinders b/c of the really funky design.
about $400 or so bcks for those though. I'll just force the air in there. (yeah, I wish!)

Yeah, I think that what he's talking about. $400 isn't exactly what I'd call cheap, but I guess it's still cheaper than a catback or turbo kit. Maybe you can just fabricate something.
