Alright all, well I'm finally done procrastaniting, and finally got a day off to go to AutoX. I'm skimming through the rule-book, but I'm still not 100% clear in my class. I dont know wheter I'm in Street Prepared or Street Modified. My power mods are:

Catless Turbo-Back Exhaust
Blitz Drop-in Air Filter with Silencer Delete
GFB Hybrid BOV
Cobb Accessport

I'm thinking I'm in SP, but I'm still not sure. Anyone care to help out?

Street Mod.

I think that is where you go. I think SP (street prep.) still requires you to be emission legal. It doesn't really matter. If you aren't doing it competitively, it won't really matter. I think it helps that you put yourself with the other Subaru's. Those guys will be the most helpful in helping learn and further set up your car if you decide to be competitive.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm just wondering my class so it will help smooth out registration on Sunday. I know I'm gonna be no where near competitive, haha.

Yeah. Just go out there and have fun. In the SF region, most of us Subaru's run either STX or STU. You'll have a lot of fun. I think what helps most of us newbies is not being afraid to ask for help. Ask for veterans to ride along with you. They'll be able to give you feedback on your driving and set-up. There isn't a lot of seat time, but you'll take away a lot from your first experience. Oh... one last thing. Don't be afraid to knock down cones or spin-out. That's how you learn.

touge-noOb, the A.P. and the BOV place you in SM. I usually run in that class in the past. IT"S huge. Most of the subies go either SM or EM ( a higher class).
It doesn't matter, just go out and have fun.

You can run the AP in STX and STU. You just can't mess with boost. But yeah... go out there and have fun. You'll be surprised how much you learn.

There's a Suby up here that is in XP...well the dude gets FTD all the time anyways.

Yeah Chris is right...even though the BOV makes you slower it also puts you in SM.

I agree that it's Streed Modified for you given your mods. You can run SM just to have fun, but to be a front runner, you'll need big stick (i.e. wide and very sticky rubber).

It's SM...we don't have a XP class here (not enough participants for that class)

We have 2 guys up here that consistently run it.

One guy has a '04-'05 WRX with frickin crazy amounts of suspension work, a 2.5l built motor (all kinds of stuff plus water injection) and PPG straight cut gears.

The other dude is a FD chassis RX-7 with a chevy V8.

The WRX guy actually ran in SM at the request of the SM guys until someone complained that he was destroying them. He's been running a Kart the last couple events because something broke in the tranny.

We also have some guys bring those Formula cars out...I think they're Formula 5000's but can't confirm that as I'm not very educated on those cars.

The saying goes "90% driver skill, 10% car". The car sounds fine...just have fun vs. trying to be a front runner.

Soooo true. I went around the track in my STi slower than a certain somebody on this forum in their HS class Yaris.... I may not be a good driver, but at least I have a ton of fun.
