Thrown off the A Stock throne by an Evo 8.

At least a fellow Subie owner was driving it. Nice driving Sean! Up until your last run I thought I had you.

Wow,

I would have thought the low-end torque of the STI would have been a big advantage. How fast is Sean in an STI?

Auto-X is not about power, it's about skill, finesse and corner workers that don't know how to work a corner.

So is the same driver,

in this case Sean, faster in the STI or the EVO? Just curious. And I think Dave and I are qualified slalom cone resetters now.

It's just hard to say who would be fast in what car. Technically the EVO should be faster in auto-x than the STi. At lest that's what all the Zines say.

I know I left early,

but I would like to get a ride sometime. I am interested in in a different perspective.

wow.. i did not realize that theres still vw scirocco 1 around. That was my first car during good ol' days (thats when uerosport do mainly VWs at their airport shop) . I removed the 1.6L and dropped in an Audi 1.8L in it. I worked so hard so save up for a
Callaway stage 2 turbo for it but somehow it did not happen due to other priorities.

That was a pretty good day, great to see such a huge Subie turn-out! I was a little rusty, definitely over-drove the car on my 2nd and 3rd runs, but put together a nice 4th run (albeit with 1 cone that ruined it all). Now I gotta wait 5 weeks before the next event?!?! Damn, man, that just ain't right!

Of course, by then the Subaru will have the Konis and Ground Controls on it, and the Mustang will be on island, so I should be able to drive both cars and have double the fun!

Sorry if I screwed anybody's points up in AS.

Well, I would like to drive a stock STi and then the stock EVO during the same event to see what differences there are. I really don't know that one would automatically be quicker than the other, ... the STi's torque would've helped in a spot or two today. B/c I didn't take into account the EVO's quick steering, I clipped a couple cones in the slaloms with the *** end.

52.6 was my best, that was also the only run I did alone, ... the other runs I had Eric in the car with me, it was his first time ever being at an autoX. (Big thanks to Eric for letting me drive his car!)

Today was nice, it was the first time I've autox'd in a while!! I even took my wrx out for the fun runs!! wasn't near as laggy as I thought it'd be!

.... oh, and S2k's are half bad when they're set up!!!
