track was uber fast ....but i got pWn3d numerous times at the crossover.......other than that good day
i managed to pull a 60.XXX during fun runs...but i think i ended up with a 62.2XX i was really hoping to do better....very very disappointed...

I thought about going over the dirt area but didn't want to screw up the track for the other participants. I don't think that taking that short cut could have taken off that much time. You would be able to go over it faster but you would have less room to slow down. I was able to go pretty fast through the chicane and still be able to accelerate past it by going 'the long way'.

yeah, the crossover was my worst area. i think i went through there cleanly only once. gotta work on getting the driver aggressive early and think of it like fun runs where you can go flat out. dorve like a wuss and ended up 1st loser. oh well, at least the next event is in 2 weeks.

going the "long" way was pretty quick, but i think going rally gave you a slight advantage...only problem was for those with lowered suspensions and low pro tires, as the "bump marks" on my tires went half way up the sidewall (225/45/17)...going that route, you ran the risk of bending a rim...
it was coned off afterward because some people followed my lead, and was deemed to be unsafe by brad (a safety steward)...they didnt want rocks and gravel to be thrown up onto the "clean" part of the track...
funny, as the subaru rally driver came out in me yesterday

The chicane is designed for you to use the curbing, even on track days going through the dirt is not the best way to go or everyone would be doing it. On the other hand jumping the curbing and flying over the dirt is perfectly acceptable. Not that I've ever done anything like that!!! lol.

Yup, loved the track. Too bad my front lip is to low to take advantage of the off roading by gate shack. Damn, I had a 55 in me. Just needed one more run. Awesome times to Barry and Ken! By the way, I'm selling some RA1's if anyone is looking to upgrade. See you guys in 2 weeks.

Larry - What size are the RA1s?
I had a blast unleashing the Mustang, it was definitely a course that car could appreciate. Hindsight being 20/20 there were a couple spots I could have been on it harder/longer, but I'm still wary of the car punishing me for pushing too hard. Gotta learn the limits gradually. I was pretty happy with the 56.4xx I ran on my last run, with some real tires (275s rather than the 255s I'm running now) and ABS (coming soon, retro-fitting a '94/95 system into the '89) I should be able to lower the times quite a bit. Oh, and I finally got my ECU interface/datalogger figured out, so I should be able to start tuning it to really start making power.

I had an awesome time at this past Auto X. The course was FAST. I think I've pushed my Forester the hardest I ever have, getting to the middle of 4th gear in the section between the beginning U-turn and the 1st slalom. For the first 2 or 3 runs, I had almost the quickest time in ESP. I ended up w/a best of 62.26, (4 hundredths slower than the 2nd place guy (808Subaru). I also ran a 60.xxx and a 59.xxx in the fun runs. I wish I did that earlier .
Congrats to Ty and Chris for coming in 1st and 2nd in ESP. I will catch you two in the Brick at some point .
