Well, I've done my shopping this past week....

If I stay with current insurance GEICO, my new premium is $2098 for 6 months. State Farm quoted me at $2280, and AIG was $2130. Progressive is the lowest I got at $1800 for 6 months, but according to a recent study I've read, they have the worce feedback from there customers. And according to that same study USAA had the best feedback out of any insurance. The only downside to USAA is that only military and family are allowed to join.

I asked Jarred from PDX tuning what insurance he recommended, and he also said USAA. So, I ask my step dad who's an officer in the military, and he signed me up with an account. I'm starting with them next month. There Premium is $2066. I'm also signing up with there other services (Savings account, checking account) because it free and the more services I have with USAA, the lower my premium for my auto insurance will be...

Damn, I forgot how bad insurance prices are in HI (as though you guys need another thing to pay out the butt for). For 2 cars here in OH we're paying $140 per month or $840 for 6 months.

I think in HI I was paying $1,200 per 6 months for my Bugeye only.

USAA covers aftermarket parts too. Although you didn't hear it from me, but there may have been talks about changing that too.

Haole-Pino: WOW, that seems really high. If you don't mind me asking, what sort of coverages did you get and on what cars? Mahalo.

Bran808: Just out of curiosity, are you on a direct repair program with any insurance companies?

I only have one car, my 2004 STi. But since it's lean holder is Hawaiian Tel Federal Credit Union, I need to have certain coverages I can't "cheap out" on. Plus, In the last 12 months, I've been involved in 2 accidents. (In my entire driving history of 7+ years, It's been clean up untill last year) So because of that, my premium went up...And will stay that high for 3 years untill my accidents get removed from my record.

Bran808: Gotcha. Oka's Body & Fender, right? Hopefully I won't need your services, but if I do, I'll come to you, know what I mean?

Haole-Pino: Ah, I get it. Hope you don't mind me asking this too, but are you under 25? Not trying to be nosy, just trying to see if that was a factor in the premium too. Thanks!

USAA was has the best rates for cars, but they do not provide motorcycle insurance so I opted for State Farm.

I pay roughly $640 for full coverage for my 02 WRX and $225 full coverage for my 05 GSXR 750 every six months.

Their customer service is top notch. I go to the Pearl City Branch.

Yep 24, I'll be 25 this year....Age might be a factor, but according to some sources, in the state of Hawaii age does not play a factor. I hope it does, cuz I could sure use a discount right about now
