I was with AIG for a long time and have had great service and prices from them. Recently swithched to State Farm because I wanted a package deal with my home insurance and an umbrella policy. AIG was still a little cheaper but the multi policy discount by State Farm saved me a few bucks.

Haha, that depends on if how many cars you sign up and how many referrals you give.

I have USAA, I switched to them from Geico when I had my Ford Lightning. My payments went down 140 bucks a month upon switching from Geico. When I bought the rex, the payments stayed the same from the SVT to the WRX.

avoid progressive like the plague....well unless you have a completely stock car. as everyone mentioned, they will not pay you for aftermarket parts if your car is a total loss. i experienced this in december after my car was completely stripped. if you read the policy, they do offer $1,000 of aftermarket coverage, but if it is a total loss that doesnt apply. They will "consider" but in the end, youll get jack ****. Even after hours of *****ing, I got absolutely nothing for everything. In their words "your parts do not add value".
State Farm kinda fuct me over, but I still chose them over Progressive. What happened was, they gave me a rate...than when I wanted the policy, she said my abstract wasnt showing on their computer. She said that could mean there was a possible "problem" (not clean abstract). I knew my abstract was all g (hadnt had any incidents in the past 3 years). She said I could pick one up or else wait a few days and they usually show up (on the computer). I couldnt wait a few days because I already had a appointment set up to pay the guys loan off that day. I went to get the abstract and when I brought it to her, that ***** raised me to the higher level even though I had nothing in the past 3 years...she said cause I had so many in the past, I was high risk....only reason I went through and got it was I was getting higher quotes from others and I didnt want to continue driving with no insurance....didnt want to risk it, I trust myself, I just dont trust all the other idiots on the road. Anyway, Progressive did offer a slighly cheaper rate, but **** them!
