Speaking of painter's tape... What's the story on numbers? The website says no tape numbers, but does anyone really care? I guess I can print out some numbers and letters and tape those up if I have to.

Pat if you need numbers you can run my magnets if 99 isn't taken in your class, you'd just have to change the class from STU with paper letters but at least there's less chance Amy will keel you lmk and i'll come out since i won' be racing

Is getting into the facility in the morning difficult? I haven't been to the swap meet in forever, and even when I did go years ago, I wasn't getting there at the crack of dawn. What time should I plan on getting to the swap meet gate?

if you're coming from town side take the Halawa exit and then left at the first major intersection (kahuapaani st). then as you come to the stadium be in the right lane before the underpass and there's a ticket booth. give em $1 and drive straight until you get to the parking lot. take a left and just follow the fence to the end and you'll see people at the gate. if you pre-registered i would say be there by 730 should give you a good hour to get things ready, tech'd, and card turned in. drivers meeting starts at 830 i think. i'm gonna try and make it out at least for a couple hours in the mornings if i see you wandering around i'll point you in the right direction. otherwise Ty is usually at the gate.

My friend's Corolla was certainly consistent - I think all 4 of my runs were within ~0.4sec (not including the 2 cones on my 1st run), despite the fact I felt like I was making some improvements. I was able to just put the transmission in 1 and leave it there, as I never got to the rev limiter.
I didn't find the Traction Control OFF button until after my 2nd run, but it turned out that was a moot point. The system must have a trigger to turn TC back on based on yaw or ABS activation or something like that. On both my 3rd and 4th runs I know I had TC off initially, but at the end of the run it was back on. On my 4th run I was occasionally pushing the button (which was low on the dash over by the driver's door, so not terribly convenient while trying to drive) to try to keep it off, but it didn't make any difference.
Good to see some familiar faces out there, some in the same cars I saw them in 4 or 5 years ago, some in new machinery.
