Looked good to me, Russ. Wes was bangin' some 12.7's and 12.8's tonight so the weather can't be totally to blame. His 60's weren't as good as normal (1.77 and 1.80 I believe) so maybe the track prep isn't that great?

Hey, what plugs are you guys using/recommend? And who besides Steven is running those Samco intercooler hoses?

Also, the ECU reset is just the battery disconnect, right? Or do I have to do that driving "routine" after? And when I uncap the exhaust for the track, does the ECU need to be reset just for that? Thanks!

I don't remember what plugs I'm using, but they are the NGK 1 step closer platinums. I'm actually planning on getting the coppers and changing them out this weekend.

I've got Samcos, too. That's about a 10-20 min install.

I'd just disconnect the battery and pump the brakes a few times.

I doubt you need to do anything at all just for uncapping your exhaust.

Thanks Pat! I'm gonna try and get some plugs in today, do a reset, and maybe hit the track tonite as well...todays weather looks better than yesterday so far...

The only other thing that I do different now is run lower tire pressures...32/29. I used to run 38/35...maybe I'll try inbetweens...

NGK BKR7E (6097) @ Parts Plus. They'll cost you about $12 for all 4.

I think it's your clutch still, ....... and the sh*tty track of course.

Thanks for the part #'s Sean! I don't want to believe it's my clutch... ...but if it were my clutch, wouldn't I smell burnt clutch odor after each run?

If your clutch was slippin' I would think you'd be able to smell it. My car was a stink-pit after smokin' the clutch during 3rd gear on a run... Hell if I slipped it too hard on the start I could still smell it for a good 10-15 minutes after the run was over...

Even if he's not "smoking" or glazing his clutch, ... it is wearing. 200 some odd drag launches will do that.

I'm not saying you'll have to replace your clutch next week, ... but I would budget it for the near future if you plan on continuing to drag race.

ehh, you didn't ask me in the first place, ... so I'll just shut up.

Sean, I do appreciate your advice...I consider you one of the original drag racing Guru's! And Rich, I don't think I make anywhere near the kind of clutch smoking power that you 12'ers make! However, a clutch fund is in the making...

Ok, I'll try anything! Thanks!

UPDATE: Saturday @ tracks:

If you guys caught a foul oder blowin' in from Campbell side, it was me stinkin up the place! I didn't get a chance to do anything but move my "exhaust leak" from the DP to the axle back. Ran 14.236 @ 95.54 mph, 1.950 60ft. best run. Also hit 14.3, 14.4's, 14.5 & 14.6! I'm not counting a 15.661 @ 72.21mph that I shut down after the 1/8 mile! These 60 fts. ranged from 2.077 to 2.191 (2.469 60 ft on the 15.6 run!). I'm launching as hard as I've ever launched (5k-6k rpm)...and I'm bogging flat on my face! Tire pressures were 35/32. Some wheelspin and then the deadly BOG! Trap speeds are the usual 95+ mph.

There were two silver wagons running 14.2's...I wanted to dig a hole and hide!

Sean, those are non-platinum plugs...are those the ones you recommend?

They're the plugs I'm running. They're a step colder than stock and copper.
