I hate to bring this up but... After doing my install I got a little paranoid thinking about what happened to you but I was wondering what color was the smoke that you saw when you pushed down on the gas? How much was coming out? could you see it in the day or night or both? How thick?

The reason why is that when i came home tonight I did the check that you did push the gas lightly and see if there is smoke. very little if at all is coming out but it is white smoke. I'm assuming since it's very little that it might be just burning off what evers is in the piping..

Jon

Sorry to bring up bad memories!

it could be normal to see 'some' white smoke, ... do you have any cats?

I saw the smoke during the day - and it was thick enough to grab my attention away from my crying girlfriend as it wafted past my field of vision in the rearview mirror.

It was typical oil smoke, whitish/blue. Oil smoke is pretty thick, while water vapor (steam/normal) is relatively thin/wispy.

Coolant burning off is DENSE WHITE smoke.

Did you get any fluids in the downpipe during your install? If that's the case, it could take a bit of time for everything to burn off.

You'll know something is up with the seal in the turbo when the amount of smoke is determined by how much "loud pedal" you give it.

I'm sure everything is fine!
