I never replied to any of your threads asking folks advice on which car you should get because I'm totally ignorant about any car besides the WRX.

I in the most recent AUTOWEEK magazine I received, the thought occured to me. I should suggest one of the nice new supercars with a factory sanctioned aftermarket package.

Number 1. (MALLETT CTS-V)

Number 2(HOPPEN MTM AUDI RS6)

I'd take a base model RS6 any day.

Number 3 (UNIQUE MOTORSPORT BMW 760Li)

Number 4 (EVOLVE VOLVO S60 R)

Number 5 (SWIFT RACING TECHNOLOGIES LEXUS GS 400)

thanx pat...those cars are pretty pimp...i especially like the volvo...those are all 4 doors cars though, and i'm in the mood for something sporty- maybe i'm in my pre-midlife-cisis crisis...HAHAHAHAHHA...

anywhoo, i've pretty much narrowed my choices down to the lotus elise and the C6 Z06 (for now anyway)...i'll probably drive the elise sometime next week- they already called me and let me know a demo is here, but i gotta work this weekend...

thanx for chiming in though...i appreciate the thought...

It was just my attempt at living through you vicariously.

Did you see that Mallett has a C5 package?

That Volvo is PIMP! But Poser, I thought you where getting the shaft on the C5 At the dealer.......going mainland Im assuming?

Oh, and another thing on that Volvo....Its got Massive 15" 2-piece rotors are clamped by DUAL six-piston calipers, all contained by gorgeous 19" HRE wheels wearing Pirelli PZero rubber. (You still want the C5? If so can you buy me the Volvo?)

All of those cars are very attractive, especially the RS6, but the idea of taking a fairly good, inexpensive car and making it outperform many name, performance cars appeals to me more.

yep, got treated like total **** from JN Chevorlet when i was ready to buy a Z06...so i went to servco in wahiawa, and ordered a 04 Z06...was treated GREAT at servco...but then i saw pix of the C6, so i cancelled my Z06, and decided to wait for it instead...

BUT i'd have to wait for the Z06 version, cause i'd kick myself in the *** if i got the "base" model and the Z06 were to come out just a year later...

and scu, i wish i had the moola to buy all my buddies cars, but i only have enough for me

pat- all the power to you for putting up with modding and tuning "inexpensive" cars...i think the wrx is an awesome platform to start with...i wouldnt be able to do it...i'd be too frustrated if problems come up...i also like the peace of mind a warranty gives...also, in our litigious society, i'm sure one would not hesitate to sue a modded car in the unfortunate event one would get into a serious accident...to me, the security justifies the higher cost of the car...
