hey Pat, ... have you asked FP about their FP30 turbos??? Just curious, b/c that would be a REALLY sweet turbo, and I wonder what it'd take for fitting on a wrx.
I know Mike and I were thinking it'd be worth the hassle to fit it on his RB a while back.

Wes, one thing led to another. First Francis says that I can get the block then I started doing my reading then I realized that the vf30 would be like a td04 on that block, then I figured,'Hey! I'm going to combat! I'm going to buy the turbo now and deal with the repercussions later' then....

and here I am.

Honestly, I've got until about 20 March to get this in and running properly. I've got a hundred other things to do to prepare for deployment (my company, my family, myself....my car). I'm gonna probably take leave around 25 Feb until 9 March.

When I get back around March 2005, I hope to have about 2 weeks to clear and then move to Georgia.

I'm probably not going to be able to race it here.

I think the rails are fine. It was one of those random thoughts....

I have read that the stock fuel lines are pretty small for larger hp. I also figured that somewhere down the line it wouldn't be a bad idea due to all of the Xylene I've pumped through the system. I'd guesstimate about 35-40 gallons of the stuff.

Another thing on my future plans list is injecting something to cool the mixture (h20, h20 & alc).

You might want to consider modifying the lines so that the rails are fed in parallel instead of in series.

I have drill that weekend, but I can help as soon as I am released (usually around 1600 to 1700 hours).

Were you also going to mod your heads, or will that be for a another install day?

I have a deep 14mm socket that is required to remove the head bolts. Some kind of clamp is needed to compress the tensioner for the timing belt. Does your 6speed have the long 10mm bolt like the one in the 5mt tans that holds the clutch fork intact?

I wasn't planning on doing anything with the heads. Do you think a mild, homemade porting would help anything out? I've seen pictures of a homemade porting job and it makes me want to send them off to someone another day.

When I link up with you to pay you, I'll check out the socket. I don't know what size the bolt is that holds the fork on. I'll take a look.

I found no shop on the island that still ports and matches besides Ted's, but they claim to not have time.

It may actually hurt your performance if the ports are not matched.

Shipping your stock heads just for a port job would be pricey. I'd just opt for the JDM heads with bigger ports.
