Attn Legacy owners: Ford stepping to the plate 2010

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/02/11/o...rd-taurus-sho/

Now the rumors to bring this "supposed" STI or tuned by STI seems just that rumors. It has become glaringly apparent that subaru is falling behind the game in the luxury AWD segment. I heard the rumors and got excited for the arrival of this new ford. Yes, I said it, "Ford".
If anything, all that HP and TQ combined with AWD will make subaru reconsider its power output design. Keep up or GTF outta the way as they say. I expect the curb weight of this behemoth to be on par with ford specs, 3800-4000 lbs. Nothing uncommon to the older FWD taurus's of old. However adding the heavy AWD trans and motor will bring us up to a weight many will feel needs to put this car on a diet. Well, it may be a diet of subaru legacy, unless SOA has an answer for this in 2010.

Subaru, go out and "get some".

Its a coincidence that I just saw a 80's Ford Taurus SHO yesterday on my way to work...

It was something I remember in the 80's with the motor designed by Yamaha and that even Jay Leno shoehorned one in in a Ford Escort to make a Renault R5 type car..

I dont think Subaru needs to follow Ford's footsteps as the 2.5L is dependable and proven and with performance parts can step up to the plate and still be reliable...Having an 05, it would've been nice if I had the 6 speed and traction control as an option or standard when it first came out..As a former domestic owner who had an 87 Pontiac with a 5.0L TPI with chip, intake, exhaust, and even NOS, bought brand new and mods installed after, I ended up selling the car after many problems and still not having the price per performance I could get with a turbo car......and reliability with an import....

In any case, I'd also buy an import over domestic any day,...

This seems more a competitor for the Audi S4 series.

I dont know, my opinion on domestic cars has changed dramatically recently. I get to drive a lot of new cars for my job, and a lot of american cars now days have a really high-quality feel to them now days.

You know times are changing when I consider a Camaro and a Hyundai as my next car.

is this some kind of joke? I'm sure Subaru has no fear of losing any customers to Ford. And if they do then those customers aren't Subaru material anyways. so there.

Wow, ok you subaru fanboys.
Did you even look at what is offered?

And to anyone else, if you haven't been to a ford dealership lately, maybe it's time you revisited.

I'll take a visit when the euro-spec Focus comes to town. Especially the ST (which we BETTER get! I love hot-hatches)!

All cars have their personalities, pros and cons...
For one, I like the retro look of the Mustang and more so the Dodge Challenger, but aside from the displacement which brings hp and TQ, I really didnt care for the reliability and quality make,...

That was years ago, but not sure if things changed...

Joey, that is one car we never got. I would LOVE a cosworth focus.

And Kev, Sue grew up in a ford family. I never did. So i don't know about reliability ten, but i hear it's much better now. I have been looking at all those cars, the challenger, new mustang, and now this. Ford is really bringing it to the table. I'd definitely have to drive them though. Pedal feel on those muscle cars have always caused foot fatigue for me.

If I didn't have my legacy you better believe I'd be getting up on the turbo genesis coupe asap.

To the ford, wow the numbers a fairly amazing. It's like a awd 335i thats tuned hahah. That thing is gonna be a monster.
