Just bought a Toshiba Satellite T2115CS, I'm guessing about circa 1994 or 95.
For a whopping $50, I got something I can leave in my car for logging. It's a state-of-the-art IntelDX4 @ 75mhz with state-of-the-art Win3.1.
Doesn't look like the battery is for sht, or if it even has one. Any experience with this monster or similar?

i would say if your datalogging software supports 3.1, by all means go with the 3.1. Much simpler and way faster to boot. I don't really recommend 95(98 is out of the picture) because it'll take a while to boot and also its way less stable than 3.1.
Nothing beats having you yell at the laptop to shutup when it screams danger to manifold.

You can put 95 on it and run hyperterminal.
However running office on it for your datalogs and charting maybe a worthless task as it will be about as fast as richards car just kidding Richard!
Also some of hte other shareware programs that are coming out of the woodwork for the UTEC may not run on a slower system like the one you just purchased. But for hyperterminal it's just fine.
With Win3.1 you can get by... But I would hate to have a laptop with Win3.1 and it's clunky interface.
My first PC was a 33MHz with Win95 and it ran just fine although it didn't do much other then a 14.4k connection to AOL.

I'll be happy to wipe it and put Win95 on it for you. I have a mini ide to pc ide adapter so I can do the work on a desktop PC.
Lemme know when.
