I read that Subaru added extra synchro-mesh rings for better downshifts from 2nd to 1st gear? Has anyone whose owned an older model and current model confirm this, and is it vastly noticeable, or even slightly?
I've driven a guy's 02 where the vibration form 2nd to 1st gives me a carpal-tunnel type vibrating shock to by wrist that hurts pretty bad.

Cool. I did some adjusting on my shifter a few weeks ago, and have to say it feels better. All i heard from some 06+ guys was it was like buttah. That would be something we could do to improve our shifts (in case you have'nt noticed, i do 2-1 shifts a lot).

Same here. I have not felt any vibration or had any problems with it so far. I have not driven any older model to tell the difference though.

Heh heh, I forgot to add though, that any downshifts from top to bottom are not "smooth" in my car, but thats most likely my short-shifter causing that problem.
Which reminds me I really need to put in my new bushings.

you are going to love them. i have the kart boy bushings and all i can say is wow still going strong and have had them for about 15k on the car. The kart boy ss is nice too but if i could go back i would not do the ss on a 6speed again kinda a pita install. +1 for bushings
