night shots are hard to compose right so this would be good practice. I don't plan on staying out to late but we'll see.

nahh, even without a tripod...just throw your ISO up, open up your aperture all the way and shoot around 100. the rule of thumb is, for minimal camera shake (blur), donʻt shoot at shutter speeds less than the reciprocal of the focal length. if that makes sense, i think thatʻs how to word it? haha.
