Anyone want a FP 18g turbo?

^^^ It's hard to get an opinion here caz there's no 4WD dynos to tune these bad boys... from what I read... 18g has more potential in the higher rpm range (higher cfm) and can handle more boost.

The 18g was never really well recieved in other turbo circles. It's not a new turbo by any means, which is NOT to say it's a junk turbo.
Generally, it makes a tad more power than a standard 16g, and the general impression in the DSM community is that the turbo is an in between turbo, like the 19c. It's not a 20g, and it's not a 16g, and its performance lies right in between.
Most people discount it because, since it requires higher boost to make its power than a 16g, and if you're willing and ready to run that higher boost, you're better off with the more efficient and larger 20g.
I think that, in comparison to the VF hotside, the td05 is slightly more restrictive, which is why most STI users opt for the td06 version.

The 18Gs that I've experienced in other automotive circles were not best in class. we were going faster at the track with even the small 16Gs (with a 10 degree clip) than we were over those things regardless of boost levels. They don't spool any better than a properly setup 20G, which would stomp a mudhole in the 18G. I think you should just leapfrog both and go with a 50-trim, which FP has a good version of called the "green". Good spool, excellent pumpgas performance, and good for up to 500whp on C16 on a well-matched setup.
