Anyone wanna go in with me on a speaker deal?
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-kVdm9wA...5250&s=0&cc=01
They're for Polk Audio DB Series 5 1/4" Separates.
Basically $180 for the first set and $90 for the second set...each of us pays $135 before shipping which may be free.
lemme know either on here or by PM...I'll need the money up front though...check my trader rating and you can do paypal to me if if makes you feel better.
Hell you can google my name Blake Pang to know everything you need.
Anywho...I have to order by JUNE 6!

I might be interested in the group buy but does local shop carries these speakers? So far, I read good things about them I like to listen w/ my own ears and judge.

What kind of sub are you running? I'm personally looking for 6" 1/2 but I can live w/ 5" 1/4
I'm thinking about JL for subs... would the 5" 1/4 be suffice??? I think it's mainly amplifing, sound tuning...

Well...it depends on your sound preference my freind.
I prefer to use the component speakers for the frequencies above 100hz and let the sub take care of the rest. I do however like component speakers with good mid-bass because it makes a smoother transition into where the sub takes over. I usually set my components high pass at 100 hz and my sub low pass at roughly 125 hz for a nice little crossover for seamless sound. I put my bass boost at around 80 hz.
However, some people like to have bigger components to also go into the low range.
I say go with my way for sound quality because I tend to let the components handle the high to mid range as well as the mid bass and let the sub handle the bass.
BTW I have a 12" Alpine Type R DVC sub...it is great...powered by a Kenwood Excelon KAC X301 bridged mono.

So far...I have 2 guys that are jumping in on the deal and if Chucky jumps in I will have 4.
I'm fine with ordering it for everyone...but ya'll have to Paypal me ahead of time when I give you the word on Tuesday
I'll put in the order that day as long as you are a "verified" paypal user (means you have to go in and do a few thingies in paypal.
If anyone else wants in I have to have a partner for you so please post that you are going in on this thread and hopefully someone will jump in.
I rate these speakers a 8/10 meaning that they are really good for the bargain basement price of $135. You'll need either the www.iaperformance.com kit or a wooden speaker spacer for these to fit (as you will with virtually all replacement speaker options). If anyone has a router or rotozip I am willing to make these for everyone and if not I will just buy the iaperformance ones.
P.S. 10/10 are given only to like the MB Quart (highest level ones) or similar super speakers. Polk is a great company btw.
