Anyone know a good electronics shop (diodes and stuff)

I'm looking to wire up an electric fan in my Mustang using a wiring diagram from online ( http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...an/index.shtml ). The one thing I still need to get is a diode, part number 1N5408, which I wasn't able to find at good ol' Radio Shack. Does anyone know of an electronics shop that would sell loose components (diodes, resistors, transistors, etc etc). Basically I'm looking for a "real" commercial version of a Radio Shack that will have a wider selection of stuff.

Thanks,
Pat Olsen

Oh, I'll also need some good 8awg wiring, but I imagine a good electronics shop will have that, too.

In college my electrical engineering friends all bought from www.digi-key.com so I would think they don't have minimum purchase quantities...

^^^ was about to say that. could also go to precision radio if you're close to town, but IC has a bigger selection.

Another vote here for IC Supply. They're always helpful and I've never gone in there to hear "Sorry, we're out of stock"
