Anyone on island to rebuild a trans?

I picked up an RA trans that Kristoy put together before he left, and unfortunately, it's popping out of 1st gear on decel. Most of the threads I've read seem to indicate that it's an internal issue. Something I don't have the tools or experience to tear in to. Is there anyone on the island that can pull it apart and do an inspection and adjustment?

When I opened this thread I was hoping to see:

"Hey I have this stock trans I pulled and wanted to have it checked out"

Why you disappoint?

Sucks Scot, like I said if you need a hand next week I'm down. Unfortunately I don't know any good trans places, and surely none with RA trans experience.

All Trans in Mapunapuna? I don't have any experience with them but have heard of them.

I would suggest going to see Seth at Import Dynamics. He installed my RA gears in my WRX so he has done it before.

If need be...id do it myself...a split housing trans is duck soup....only thing really hindering is maybe a press for the bearings or gears...

I thought about it, but after reading the fsm it looks like inspecting and figuring out exactly which part is misadjusted or out of spec is more than I want to tackle. Especially given the hassle of replacing it. I'd rather pay someone and know it was built correctly.

yea +1, 5 speed is duck soup. i bought a $200 press from blue sky hawaii at dillingham a few years ago.. ive thrown countless subaru wheel bearing jobs, 5spd gear sets, toyota wheel bearings, and rear diff bearings for my toyota truck lol.... but the snap on bearing separator was also another $200
