ok did the iden update program successfully install? if you you can try to go to START > ALL PROGRAMS > IDEN UPDATE. then right click on IDEN UPDATE APPLICATION then click on properties with your left mouse button. This should bring you to where your program is installed in your computer "C:\Program Files\Motorola\iDEN Update" now look for "SetupUSBDrivers.exe" and go through that setup...
Also verify that you have "usbser.sys" installed in the following locations:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
C:\Program Files\Motorola\iDEN USB Driver
If you do and it still doesn't work you'll need to over right them with this one:
usbser.zip

It could be that the motorola server is down... I wish that you have your own cable so I could tell you everything I see...

If you go to the control panel and click on system properties... then go to hardware and click on device manager is motorola iden modem (something to that effect) listed in your hardware listing? the icon next to it should look something like a cell phone?

you could also try this... download and double click on the registry file and say yes to the message that pops up...

whoa. i must have lucky computers. it works fine on my xp pro w/ usb cable and my home 2000 pro w/ usb cable. i just used the webjal and webjalpatch. what os are you using? this works for the 730, 530 and 305 phones. i just put some songs on our workers phones. i even got the animated matrix gif to work on turn on. good luck. b
