it sucks taking off that intake...whats the deal with securing the fuel lines and wiring under the intake with bolts....blah...

I've seen that before with low valve lash. Valve job should cure it since they can grind the stems to set the lash.
I have a valve compressor tool if you plan to replace the valve yourself ghetto style, but you'll still have lash issues on that valve. Better to just get a full valve job so they can cut a new seat.
Yeah removing the rails is a bizarxh.

The intake manifold comes off in a few minutes. Leave it all together. Remove the wiring and fuel lines with it.
once the intercooler, intake, expansion tank, and washer bottler are removed...
coil connectors
pass side bulk connector and little ground
two coolant lines on throttle body
PCV hose
knock sensor connector
Brake booster hose
fuel lines
cam pos sensor
2 bulk connectors by battery
coolant temp sensor connector
oil pressure switch
crankshaft pos sensor
little power steering connector
Then take out the 8 long bolts that go through the TGV bodies
It all lifts right out.
oh wait. you have an 06. There's a couple more steps, but same thing works

fuel pressure regulator!! hook those two up with a hose as soon as you can!! that line is common for popping off on the dyno causing a sudden lean condition and possible boom =( the original hose us u-shaped and gets hard and brittle with age
