anyone ever use seafoam??
this is the product: http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUpTechGas.htm
please give thoughts on using on a 2000 model year car. many guys have said it works on toyotas, so i'm considering it, but hesitant. btw it's for my toyota, not my wrx.

i used to frequent the toyota forums, trucks, 4runners tacomas and what not and the guys seem to love seafoam. they use it from trucks 94 and on.... i have a friend in the mainland that used it on his 2000 4runner.

Not directly related, but I was checking out the bits of the '97 Legacy FSM that I downloaded a while back. My idle is sometimes a bit weird, and I figured the idle air control valve is probably crapped up after almost 150,000 miles of use. Well, the FSM actually directs you to put carb cleaner in through the vacuum tube running to the IAC while holding the engine at 2000rpm. I've read about people sucking Sea Foam or ATF into an engine to clean it while it was running, and I always kinda assumed that was a bad idea. Turns out, Subaru's own FSM actually has a procedure to do that! Well I'll be damned!

I've poured ATF into the throttle body of a car before it is supposed to help clean all the deposits off your valves but be prepared for a ton of think I mean like a house burning down white smoke we lived out in the woods so who cared it got rid of v the annoying valve clatter

I used this on my WRX as well as my Sporttrac when I had them both. It is essentially the same stuff as the Subaru "top mount cleaner" that they try to sell you on during service visits.
Put a bottle in through brake booster line and it will clean out the entire intake path and top of engine. Just don't go driving until all of it has burned through because your car will smoke like Spy Hunter.
It's really a great cleaner for getting rid of carbon build-up. The bottle is only $10 or so and it's worth doing every 12-15,000 miles.
