anybody from waianae coast?
Hi fellow subie owners from Hawaii,
I'll be visiting oahu the end of may and interviewing for a job at Wainae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. Is there anyone on this forum from the area? I'd love to find out more about the local community there. Please reply to this message or send me an email: ted_th_lee@yahoo.com.
Thanks a bunch!

i got a couple friends that live there. the good part is that it is close to the track, the bad part is all aspects of the drive(some nice sights though). you will be near the beach though.

A Silverlining!
There are alot of silver linings to this side of the Island.
If you are a home owner, you may like this style of living.
If your proffesion is as a Health Care Provider, you can learn to appreciate the need for people like you.
To me being from Ewa Beach and frequenting that side of the island is a total blessing to get away from the city and the wanna be fast pace of Hawaii.
The only drawback that is generalized is this I belive; The local people got the short end of the stick during land negotiations historically in the past. It is considered an area where the Missionaries didn't want to settle in because of the terrain and weather. After they named it a bad land it just became so.
Although now there are transportaion monies alocated to the area, and other venues being developed to make it the next or 2nd Waikiki.
There is always a silverlining, and shortly the resources will be plentiful for even the Local Hawaiins who finally deserve something back.
In the State of Alaska you get a Dividend Check at the end of each year.
In the State of Hawaii, they were getting a bunch of lip. So my new friend, make your own dicisions about the Waianae Coast.
Aloha,
Nino

The leeward side is dry. Be careful not to get mugged. Watch out for mokes in monster trucks. Have I covered all the leeward sterotypes yet?
