any MIS majors?
Did any of you take the PMP (Project Management Professional) certification? If so, do you have any study materials?
Or anyone currently taking MIS classes at UH-do you have any notes on Project Management, Requirements determination, etc.
Im trying to brush up before an interview next Tuesday...im way outta the loop since I gradudated in Fall 05. I did keep my notes, but my car got stolen last December and I had all my stuff in there

I don't have these notes anymore but PMP was hell. SO MANY HOURS just to get qualified for the requirements. I ended up ditching it.
Kudos since you can keep it up. 60 units just to maintain accreditation every 3 years is torture.

are you using your MIS degree? if so, what do you do? just wondering. for the most part, classmates of mine either used the degree and did well or ditched the degree and did something totally different...

I went another route. The thing is, going to school for MIS/CIS degrees are only about the applied knowledge and certifications. Most jobs just requires a bachelor's degree and certain certifications. You can get a bachelor's in something else, then pick up certs and you'll be in the same qualifications. The only important thing is that you really have previous experiences with computers as some people in the MIS/CIS degree programs do not.

I was a MIS/Finance double major and finished in the Spring of 99. Didn't learn **** from the program back then. I hear they actually teach you useful stuff now. Anyway I'm working in the Information Assurance/Network Security field now. Most of my learning was on the job.
