Dang Joey...I'm a 1911 freak too!!! Any .45 (Colt long or ACP) is getting expensive. I found some 300 grain colt on the intarwebz for 38 bucks for 50 rounds. Not too bad, but at the same rate people can buy a box of crap 9mm for 9 dollars.
All my guns are in Tx...how is the range out here anyway. Been here for 3 years now, and still haven't even checked it out.
PM me if you wanna sell the M1911. Seriously

1911's rock...I've got an accurized Colt M1911 that I don't fire much anymore, a Kimber Tactical 1911 and Springfiled Armory 1911. They are all awesome handguns...but the cost at the range is killer! .45ACP is not cheap! I also have a SigPro2340, Hi STandard .22 Competition Target Pistol and a couple of revolvers... Big D and I used to go to the range a lot...maybe we should go!

I like the S&W .40,...
I shot the P229 9mm and just felt the P226 felt more balanced in my hand and more comfortable. My cuzn has th P229 so we just swap guns at the range for a change in pace. Its a little more umph compared to a 9mm, but its getting used to it just like anything else....I also like the fact and bought the conversion to shoot .357 rounds as well....

Good to know you like it.
.357's are good rounds. (in a red headed step child way) 9mm round with a .40 casing. I'm the same way, my hand just doesn't feel very balanced holding a 9mm. So it'll take some adjustment when I buy my conceal.

All good guns mentioned so far. I REALLY want a 1911 with a light rail but will wait on that as I have a few others I want more than that. My next guns will be a GSG-5 for fun and a Walther PK380 when it comes out and if it gets good reviews. After those two...probably a Galil next.
Here's my current ones:
CZ 75b - Nickel Plated with Hogue Grips.
AK47 - Tacticalled out...yeah yeah yeah you purists...my ricerness came over to my gun.
Together:
Truth be told, since baby came I haven't gone shooting so that's 2 months now. My gun club is about 30-40 minutes away but it is $60 a year for unlimited shooting (outside range) any type of gun other than full-auto or like a cannon or something.

I used to shoot alot when I was living in the mainland. Personal favorite still has to be 45 ACP's but they are so damn expensive to find rounds now. I haven't gone to the range in a long time but I really want to. Had a SA1911 and is among my favs. Lately I've been looking for a Mark 23 but they are no where to be found anymore and if they are, they are going for extremely high.

Sorry dude...that won't happen. It's a pistol my dad gave to me and I rarely ever fire it. If I do, I have to find 190gr. wadcutters for it...
Historically, the .45ACP round is the round to use for stopping power. I guess in the mid 1980's they started to favor the 9mm round because of the amount of rounds that can be carried as well as making it standard to NATO. However, in recent years, Special Operations has realized the stopping power of the .45ACP round and the SOCOM Mk 23 won the competition. I know that Special Ops also uses other handguns (Sigs and M1911 clones) that are chambered for the .45ACP.
