Any good Mechanics? SVX is done...

Yeah so I'm driving home today and right as i turn on my street I notice the temp guage is way up and then smoke starts barreling out from under the hood I turn the heater on and park in my drive. After I turned it off and the smoke cleared she was almost empty with a big puddle of coolant underneath. After she cooled off I topped her off and started her up I watched the fluid pouring back out, but can't tell where its coming from. Its somewhere underneath the cams on the driverside. If anyone here is or knows a trustworthy mech who doesn't charge an arm and a leg, luckily my insurance will pay for towing.

Thanks guys

It does not sound that bad. If your engine fell out I would maybe call it done
didnt you pick up another SVX for parts?

Hopefully they will tow it over to Vakamon for you.. sometimes there are distance clauses in the insurance.
I know that can be caused by a range of things so I am hoping it is on the less serious side

Word! The hose was the wrong size, but it was so crammed in their that you couldn't tell from looking at it. Peter from Randy's Auto Shop in K Bay fixed it for 20 bucks (only 4 dollars more than that p.o.s. hose I bought at checkers lol
Anyway so the next day my starter went out and it was chilling at work for the past 2 days. Fixed her today and funny thing was I got a new starter from Servco cheaper than a refurb. from Napa go figure huh?

Glad to hear it's a minor problem. It definitely sounded like a head gasket in the first post.
Are all the hoses original? How did the one that leaked feel? Markedly different from the one you put in? Old hoses can get spongy and let go; if that happened on one, you should check the rest.

The hose I replaced went around 2 metal hoses that were at an angle to each other. The hose that busted had swelled up from pressure and because of the difficulty reaching it it ripped when I was removing it so you couldn't tell where the original rip or hole was in the hose. Anyway I replaced it with a random heater hose from checkers. It "looked" the same size, but since the old hose had swelled it was hard to tell what it looked like originally. After I put it on and started the car you still could not see fluid coming from it, but you could see it pouring under the car from around the muffler. But with a little squeeze you could see the coolant squirting from underneath the hose (obviously why I couldn't tell before) As bad as it was though she didn't overheat driving to Randy's shop and he put the correct hose on and now she's golden.

good to hear Amanda. So when you wanna have a SVX photo shoot? Glad you fixed ur problem and glad to hear ur claret is almost ready. For me my ebony is my daily driver for now, my pearly is under a timing issue surgery. And my maroony doesn't have all it's updates. So, as soon as we got it "ALL" road ready, let's get together. I'll try and get some other SVX owners together too.

Hellz yeah! But the claret is still chilling in the garage. These current probs are with my DD, but my dad is coming out for a "vacation" on the 13th...I have other plans for his time here lol j/k I will still take him to the beach. That claret is gonna look amazing when I'm done and to think she had moss growing on the windows and mold all over the suede and carpet
