AMS Hawaii Tune May 2011.....

I have had both a PDX tune and an AMS tune. essentially i had the same parts with the exception I went from a FMIC (PDX tune) to a TMIC (AMS tune). with the AMS tune I put down more hp and tq. both were decent numbers but where I was dissatified with PDX is when I took the car to the track and my car could not break out of the 14's. keep in mind I am a decent driver and I had other good drivers try and break out with no success. also when my car was stock I was consistently hitting 13.1/13.2's. eventually I found the problem and yes it was because of the PDX tune. I will say this though, If you think 1 hour of tuning on a dyno will get your car running the way you want. You are sadly mistaken. If you want it done right pay for the extra time, get the car on the road and road tune. You will start to see things that 1 hour of tuning on a dyno will not show you.
as for Chris of AMS he has done two tunes for me one on my EVO and one on my STI and I have been satisfied with both. He has even been willing to help me e-tune my EVO cause I moved from Hawaii to Korea where the gas is slightly different.

he will work with you without breaking your wallet...
also if your retuning on the same ecu that you were on weather it be a new turbo or lots more mods... as long as it's on the same software that he has tuned with you b4 then you will get the tune at a retune price.... you only pay new tune price when you:
A. get a new car
B. switch out your ECU tunning option

you will be fine on the dyno.... there is no legal places here to do road tunes plus they prefer dyno tunes over road tunes... this is what he does when he tunes his drag cars and track cars.... there all tuned on the dyno and if needed then they do some touch ups on the track.... but you can talk with him. he does road tune the guys on the big island since they have no dyno to tune on.... the other thing is safety to him from you as a driver and other drivers on the road.....
