AM reception
I've been lurking the boards for a while, but just picked up my Black/Gold STI, and am now part of the I-club crew. What's cool is that owning an STI/WRX is similar to riding a sportbike (although I don't ride one no more). We all give our shoutouts to each other on the road.
Anyway, got a Alpine 9803 installed from circuit city, and the reception sucked. Went back to get the power antenna wire hooked up. FM reception is solid now, but still can't get any AM. (I need my sports talk radio...) Any of you guys have bad or no AM reception around town? Any solutions? Much Mahalo's!

FM
My car has the worst FM recepition ever since I installed my TT so now I just listen to CD's. I don't have the ground connected to the radio one either... Who knows and yes windows are tinted but it worked fine before.

Thanks for the replies. I have tint, but they're not metallic. I guess the only way to get AM reception is to get an external antenna. No more sports on the radio... Kind of sucks...

yeah my kenwood just crapped out on me two weeks ago. i still can't get it to work. it doesn't power up anymore but it does flip with when i turn the car on and off. and it has been alittle more than a year so the warrenty is no good. but then again i got the deck when it first came out at distributor cost.
thinking of going with a nakamichi now.

my friend's husband owns PATS in halawa so i can get a pretty decent price on nakamichi's. i'm already running nakamichi co-axaials all around and they are pretty decent. i didn't want to fork out the money for CDT separats.
