About the track closing

I was wondering, with all this talk of the track supposedly closing, is there really going to be a huge amount of street racing occuring? I mean that's the general consensus, but in the few years of auto-x and track days i've done, it's rare that I see the masses of idiots who race on the street show up. I was thinking that those who race seriously will race on the track, and those asses who want to race on the streets will race on the streets. so unless we turn stupid and all start street racing, (which I've rarely seen anyone at auto-x or track days do) I don't think it should really add to the street racing. ( summer vacation and spring break with graduating kids will probably produce more racing idiots than anything else )

Racing costs money, alot of the fools who street race can't afford to race for real.

Ok rant over, nomex suit on.

you have a point. one that i dont think anyone thought about. i hope ur right, but then again, i have a feeling that it will indeed get worse. lots of the ricers that drag will take it back to the streets (and there are alot of them). subys, prolly not. i tend to think that the suby crowd will stay goood, but the rest of them....who knows.

it's amazing how these street racers have so much ***** to race on the streets, and get fined for an amount of money, and even get arrested for reckless driving and then go to forumshawaii and brag about it or complain...i don't get these peeps...and if im not mistaken(i could be wrong) majority of them are just young or ignorant people....THEY NEVER LEARN!!!

but yeah i see your point....

and what about "uncle"s who can't drag race anymore and have been doing it since sandy's time. they are gonna have to get their fix out somehow. but i don't see it happening with all the enforcement and population reaching areas that used to be prime for racing.

father: son, keep the racing at the track
son: ok.......what track?

of course recon enforcement will be the big deterrent used by police like how they use it at tantalus now. even if you got the sticker, they will go over it.

hopefully street racing wont increase, but itd be nice to at least keep the "MAN" thinking that because its just another reason we need a track :P

personal opinion: the cops/authority (such as it is), is BANKING on street racing becoming a bigger problem cuz that means more money for the state...i think they are partially allowing the closin of the track to GOAD alot of people TO street race...just my Fd up thought....

Its sad to say, If they do close the tracks in April..... Streetracers and Innocent people on the roads ( our family member) will be at risk and maybe lose their lives....They should open their eyes cause it will get worst....

Actually i was thinking that allowing the track to close would be like forcing the gov't to give tax and credits to the track owners to build a new one (by forcing public outrage).... would be a pretty slick plan if you ask me.

this is funny, but serious at the same time.

what comes to mind isn't the freeway racing, but some empty area that people would gather at. kinda like what they did in cali. gather in some remote area where noone normal would be driving and start some races.
