81k miles too high for a 2005???

I have still been searching for another Suby and would really like an STI but am now leaning toward a nice used WRX but today I cam across a 05 STI real clean runs great but it has 81k now that is some serious mileage not sure of the history of the car but it is in my price range seeing that I could probably get it for around $20k KKB is just over $21k. Would anybody else buy a newer car with miles like that the same place also has a 2005 black 5spd WRX wagon and it has 49k miles and the want just over $17k for it and that is around waht KBB is also the less money I spend the more I'll have for mods later.

Thanks

17K is too much for a wrx... unless its an 06-07 with 30k. imo

i paid 12,750 for my 03 wrx with 68k

$20k is way to much with 81k miles. wow. i got my 06 wrx with 13k miles for 17.5 out the door. keep looking i'm sure you'll find something good.

My dad drove more than that a year for work all highway miles he put around 60k a year on his truck but by looking at his truck you'd never know it. He took real good care of it still ran perfect but you guys are right I can't let my urge for another STI draw me into buying something like this I am really leaning toward the 05 WRX wagon I found much better deal.

wow, you got a good price...thats around the price range i wanted to spend...but i decided to pay more for less mileage.

81k miles is insane...you know when you buy the sti, that its been driven hard. i just waited a while till the right one came around...most of the ones for sale (around the time i was looking) had between 30-50k miles...i didnt even want to buy the 50k miles one. when buying, i was looking for a low mileage stock car. less chances of problems.
