$400 US is not bad at all. I would not mind at all paying for at least half San.
However, getting this swapped in an out is going to be a chore and if we can't get the resources to do it ourselves it could get expensive.

Let's put it this way. Mitch, you know I'm all over that, but I would need to hear some more compelling facts that it is useful and non-damaging.
What I figure is that the HP and torque readings wouldn't be the same as if an AwD dyno, but as long as the readings were consistent then that would be all we need to tune with, right? I give a rat's *** that we wouldn't be able to brag about 4000000 awhp, just so long as we would be able to tune.
If you can convince me that it would be useful and not harmful, I'd be happy to shell out a portion of the dough.

What do you have to do?
I've got some, but very limited experience with transfer cases and half-shafts with all the help I've given the HUMV mechanix when they were working on my truck down in the MoPo.

Well it's either buy this or weld your own center diff. Welding the center diff is what all the DSM guys do to get on a 2wd dyno. But I'm more then sure that buying a center diff from subaru is too cost prohibitive and finding one in a junk yard wil lbe a little tough to do.. Well we can always ask scsi

well, that is how Shiv used to tune on a dyno.
The swap is not as easy as with the DSMs either.
It's not harmful, just a pain in the a$$ to have to do. IT Can be Worth it though.
Pat, personally, with just a UTEC, I wouldn't even bother.
Mitch, with the Link, and a turbo, etc, ... it could be very beneficial.
And if someone would step up and get a Tec or Autotronic, or the AEM when it comes out, it could be a lot of help too.
You can also figure that Shiv will come out here again someday, and you could plan accordingly.
There are plenty of people on island though that are pretty good at tuning on the dyno, ... it's just we haven't been able to take advantage.

Can you eleborate on this comment? The UTEC is just as good as my LINK and has just as much control over fuel/ignition/etc so that a dyno would help tune just like if it were me with my LINK. I dont get it?

No Limit is right from what I've read. Shiv tuned with this or something similar in earlier days. I've only got 18 months left on island, but if I lived in Hawaii, I'd probably buy this rather than wait for an AWD dyno that may never come. I'd like to see SubSonic's opinion on just how difficult this would be, as well as any cons we haven't thought of.

I guess I should say I just don't see it as total control. It really could be just about as beneficial for him as well(I was thinking of his current setup, not what he is planning on doing), to get some different maps 'mapped' out. He'd just need to reset his ecu, or something, to keep it as close to the 'dyno'd map' as possible. Did I make any sense? I dunno.
