08 STi for a 13 WRX?
Sooo, there's a grey hatch STi on Craigslist and I kinda really want to trade in my WRX for it. My question is, would it be weird or even ridiculous to trade in my 8 month old WRX? I originally wanted a STi but my salesperson convinced me to go with the WRX. Almost all the parts I've put on are interchangeable and I have all the stock parts. Advice and comments are welcome but please don't get too nuts.

Car Info: 2012 WRB STI Wagon
Depends on the condition of the STI.
Mileage on it? clean title? how many owners? any mods? maintenance kept up?
Honestly, i would keep the WRX just because you are the only owner and you know everything that has been done to the car...But then again it depends how bad you want a STI because for me i didnt want to settle for a WRX.

Knowing everything that has happened to the care is important with these cars...
Wish I was the original owner

I'll have to side with those re: being the original owner; it's a hard tradeoff. I know why you'd want to go STI over WRX but in the same instance, here, in this state, with my daily drive, I probably should've gone wrx like others suggested me once before. Still, your WRX is really sweet and you know the car from day 1. The 08's ringland issue is something to consider, being the first year of that edition (in a sense of STI GR style), I'd say do your research on it...

straight up you would be loosing if you did this! if you really want a sti but a NEW one. you will take a hit period why take a hit and buy someone else's problems!
was there sti's in stock? when you bought your? i know around the time you picked them up they were hard to get. lmk how much you owe. i think i have a dgm hatch in stock. i know I have a sedan for sure.

I love my 08 sti and being the second owner and after 55k+ miles I haven't had the ringland issue....yet lol. I personally like the 08-10 hatch look over the newer body style (basically the bumper). But admittedly, the 08 sti powerband was a bit underwhelming stock (atleast compared to other stock sti's I have driven in the past). But after a year of owning the car, my enthusiasm was re-ignited after re-fashing stage 1. (Which completely changed the whole dynamic, its almost like night and day.) With that being said and all things considered...your wrx is clean as hell and is basically brand new, and there is that peace of mind that comes with a new car. But then again a WRX is not an STI. And TBH, if my budget at the time allowed it, I would have gotten a newer STI.
