'06 FXT acceleration numbers

'06:

0-60 5.9 sec
0-100 15.8 sec
1/4 mile 14.3 sec @96 mph.
top speed 128mph
curb weight = 3324 lbs

C&D tested it. Apparently, the '04/'05 FXTs were quicker

'04/'05

(0-60 5.3 sec
1/4 13.8 sec @ 97mph
Top speed 130
curb weight = 3220 lbs.(5MT base model), 3330 lbs. (4EAT premium model)

Also, the gearing for gears 2-5 are different, resulting in better fuel economy. Downside is slower acceleration.

I go for acceleration.

Heh heh, sorry bout that, Homey

Actually, I posted this to let you (among others) know, since you were considering it. Just a little something to let you know what you may be getting into. Then again, you're probably going to mod the sh*t out of it, so those numbers may not bother you?

I also figure the only part of the '06 that may get you thinking is the different gearing from the set in the '04/'05. Taller.

yeah...

what I've come to understand and think about the way it looks is this...

it resembles a FAT GUY EATING THAT HAS HIS MOUTH STUFF WITH FOOD AND HE CANNOT OPEN HIS EYES.

that is what the front end looks like

the direction that SOA(and here) is headed- bringing subaru further into the premium brand- since the forester is one of their top sellers..... another "tweak" to test the market- i'd like to see that STi version hit our shores... just for the heck of it... like bring in 500 or so. that would rock
oh, and about that accerleration numbers...i'll wait for at least 3 or 4 more actual tests to make my strong opinion on it. just like the wrxsti had some mags at 5.1 and some at 4.9(0-60) i'd like to see where all the tests are being done(at which track) (humidty, temp etc..)

Can anyone confirm that the 06 FXT has no up pipe cat, it was replaced with an air pump?
