Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

What's the best intake?

Infact from about 4-4.5k it is louder and more annoying as it reaches it's rev limiter. I put up with it for a while but one day on my way to work I had to hit WOT to get through an intercection before the light changed. The next thing I knew, the high pitched sound not only attracted the attention of the people walking along the side of the road but also that of an a-hole in a firebird that must have though I was some 16 year old that thought his import was the fastest thing in the world. The next light the guy wanted to race.

The following day I took off the intake and put the stock back on.
I still plan on putting a full exhaust on my 01 Legacy and a few other things, but I still would like to get rid of the horrible factory air intake.

Is there any way to quiet my intake down so it wont attract so much attention? Or is there an intake that isnt so noisy at WOT?

Thanks in advance guys!

Just so you know my intake looks exactly like this one sold by rallitek.
once you do your exhaust. it'll even out the intake at WOT

your exhaust will atract more attention then your intake.
