Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

turbo or supercharger 06 2.5i?

If the wrx is an open deck motor as well, and it is turbocharged to 13.5 psi... then correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you think a 2.5i with upgraded pistons and connecting rods and a few other upgrades would be able to handle a 5-8 psi boost without destroying the engine?

it should, but the wrx has forged rods and crank, im just saying if you are already in there, maybe get somthing semi closed, or closed deck, but an entire wrx engine would be easier to swap in then throw boost at an n/a motor, it would be more reliable, and have more potential, and the fact that it is already turbod, with all the turbo hardware, heads, intake, oiling system, ect ect

Those kits are cool, but I can't believe that someone would spend $4500 on a GT30 and then only run it at 8 PSI. That same turbo on a WRX or STI could support 400 WHP. I suppose if you were making a race car, the GC8 can be made a lot lighter than a WRX, but I don't see a use for those kits in anything but a purpose-built racer.

I'm not looking to spend $4500 for a twin turbo kit to blow my engine. I am looking for a modest supercharger or turbocharger comparable to the wrx.

Didn't want to have to deal with the high insurance costs and I bought the 2.5i to be a reliable car that I was planning on upgrading when I got the money, I really couldn't have afforded a wrx at the time.
