Transplantation of 2.5 instead of 2.0
Hi there all of you.....
I have a subaru impreza 1999 RX, my brother got 2001 model GX with 2.0 Normally aspirated engine and this is the same engine as mine, he was nervous about the performance of his car.....with my old subie i beat him very easily each time we race then he decided to change the block of the engine with the 2.5 and he did it but he didnt change anything else???the transmission is the same and the fuel injuction is the same too......i wanna ask how can we reach the best performance without damaging these modification??? the engine is working good and everything is fine but when i drove the car i didnt feel anything new?????help me guys.....im going to send you pictures soon

It will work ok, but the biggest problem you'll have is the high compression ratio of the 2.5 engine, unless you're talking about the engine from the STi. changing the pistons to some Ross or JE ones will lower the compression down to safer levels for both everyday driving and racing. I also recommend that your brother get some engine management, and NOT something like a S-AFC, a true replacement ECU. Hope this helps.
