Hey I3eXa does yours do it when the AC is on or just whenever. I've been trying to figure out what is going on with mine. I'll be accelerating and at times just cruising and all of a sudden my power goes away and comes back, all within a matter of a second. My A/C is not on when that happens. Im at 35K and i had replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires. I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm trying not to drive the car much before it hits 36K so that I can take to the dealership and let them figure it out. Unfortunately I'm afraid they might give me grief because I have aftermarket parts, such as headers, intake catback and pulley. I know that they can only give me problems with headers and pulley but not the intake and exhaust. Any input would be greatly appreciated before I take it to the dealership and have them charge me an arm and a leg to tell me some bogus reason such as it's the headers fault or something.

Sasha, mine does it every once in a while. But no, the AC doesn't have to be on when it happens. It happens with and without it on. But again, I have 160K on mine. I have also replaced the plugs, wires, and fuel filter. I don't have any other real mods so I don't know what else it could. I wish I could help but unforunately I really can't. Sorry

ac cycling
hey, this sounds like an old problem. Seems it is caused usually by an intermittent thermister. Its mounted above the ac case behind the glove box, and has a probe wire leading into the evap case. Used to be fairly common. It is a small printed circuit box that acts like a thermo sensor or themostat.

Well, I was on my way to the shop to check out the a/c problem, when all of a sudden, the road I was driving on "dipped" and I
"bottomed out" real bad. I knew I really ****ed it up, when the car wouldn't drive straight and the steering wheel started shaking. Luckly, there was a small shop close by (not the one I was headed for orginally) and drove in. I asked the available technician to raise my car and check for damage.
Yup, about $500 damage. I should have slowed down a little, but wasn't paying enough attention. I guess I'm gonna have to save up for a few weeks so I can fix it. Luckly I still have my old "back-up" car, my '88 cavalier Z24. Its got a hell load of miles on it, but it still runs from point A to point B.
**** happens!
I'll update on the subaru later...

Sorry to hear about that - but it probably could have been worse than $500.
Glad you have a back up car!
Sometimes it happens. I spun on some black ice over Christmas (going about 15mph) and just managed to stop before I hit the retainer. Luckilly nobody was coming the over way!
Hope you are back up and running soon!

thanks dgknight, I plan on fixing the subaru as soon as possible. The cavalier runs alright, but it has that digital dash crap and it burned out a while back. So I don't know how fast I'm going, temp gage, gas gage, ect... I'm not really concerned about the gas, I just fill it up every 3 days to make sure I don't run out.
Thats good you made it out of that black ice o.k.
I hate black ice....I know I've been caught in it at one time or another!
