Quad Throttle Bodys?
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to know if the quad throttle body setup would be possible on a late model WRX? I'm aware of the fact that the engine isn't an inline-4 but is four throttle bodys a possibility? I did a search already.
Thanks

The Jun Hyper Lemon GDA WRX is an example of a car that just so happens to have an individual throttle body setup ( check out more on it ). Anything is possible, but don't expect to be able to buy a "bolt-on" kit anywhere. Like I said thoug, of course it is possible, and with a good brain, and a deep pocket, you'll be able to do it for sure. Just be ready make your car illegal for public road use though...

Would the car be illegal for pollution issues? i dont see exactly why it would hurt legality (unless you live in an area with strict rules) please enlighten me!
I havent looked at the legal downsides of ITB setup, only performance upsides. Thanks guys...this manifold puts a serious ceiling on the limits of my motor, getting rid of this problem would open a whole new understanding of suby N/A performance.

Dan, you make me sick I wish I had the cash for that engine, but I figure I'll do it after my shortblock dies eventually.. But the good news is, I'm buying the STI V7 Struts andSprings from the dealership today for like $747, and I have my Spicy Cams, ACT Clutch, and Exedy Flywheel on order, so my cars getting a lil bit better

ITB's
I am building a dual throttle body setup for N/A 2.5's. I will have the first one and Dcoty will have the second. We might be interested in making one for the WRX, especially since there is a lot bigger market out there. I'll let you know how mine comes out and then I'll toss around the idea of doing one for the WRX if there is an interest out there for it.

My point was that, in order to justify the expense and complexity of a real good ITB setup, the rest of the car has to be near true race-setup standards, in engine power and overall performance. Otherwise, to me at least, it seems foolish to use an ITB setup on anything but the most extreme overall applications. At that point, I highly doubt the automobile would pass emissions tests, and would rightly be operating way outside the boundaries of the stock ECU's jurisdiction.

Thats why you make friends with emissions testers. You wouldnt need a full race engine, just CAI-Bored TB-ITB-Ported Heads-Spicy Cams or Equivalent-Header-High flow cat or testpipe-Catback. The only thing I'm missing is the Cams which are on order, and I'm having my heads ported locally. I also have to send my TB to Rev-Lab to have it bored. It won't be as potent as Dan's setup, but it will be a kick in the pants for a reasonable price. I figure with my entire car, it will be around the cost of a WRX, heres what I've done/ordered so far..

Nathan-
You and I will have some cool prototypes for people to see! Its amazing that you have the skill/machinery to accomplish something like this...way beyond my capabilities in my garage (but I have air tools so I can change my tires really quick! ) Im still curous as to how to make equal airflow to each TB, maybe dual cobb-style intakes from each side of the bay, but there is stuff in the way on the right side. Its a small issue, but Il palying around with it, my brother is teaching me the art of carbon fiber so that might play a roll in the intake design!
N/A Beast-
You have a very clean looking setup going on there, i was all over the place int he beginning and wasted money here and there (ex; changing to a more aggressive cam). You car will be fast thats for sure, with the heads and cams my car was a blast and dead even with a WRX form a launch and roll (I wasnt even tuned so Id consider it pretty good). N/A suby's are fun!
Take it easy guys!
